Finally Healthcare Burnout is Recognized at a National Level

The CDC announces campaign to reduce burnout

It's no secret to those of us working in healthcare but the CDC is catching on after the result of their latest survey, reporting that the majority of health-workers felt anxiety, depression, and burnout. This would not be acceptable in any business. Why has it taken this long for the government to catch on? Would it be plausible to guess worse patient outcomes are related to poor workplace environments, resulting in increased cost of care? Hmmmmmm. Just food for thought. 🤔

The ANA backs bill to enforce safe nurse staffing ratios

Hot off the press. On November 1st, the American Nurses Association (ANA) announces an official stance in support of the Nurse Staffing Standards for Hospital Patient Safety and Quality Care Act (H.R.2530 and S.1113), which aims to establish national minimum nurse-to-patient ratios in hospitals. The ANA views these ratios as a vital solution to the ongoing healthcare crisis. Furthermore, the legislation not only sets these staffing requirements but also focuses on identifying best practices for nurse staffing and safeguarding nurses who advocate for patient safety through whistleblower protections. Time to get those letters out to your legislative leaders folks! ✍🏼
