Unmasking big pharma: questioning price gouging, fast-track approvals, and scare tactics💡

Big Pharma's soaring drug prices, swift FDA approvals, and fear-based marketing are raising concerns. It's time to demand transparency, question the rush for approvals, and challenge manipulative tactics. Let's prioritize an ethical and accessible healthcare system that puts patients first.

Hobbies to die for

In a swiftly advancing world dominated by technology, where gaming, virtual reality (VR) integration, and remote work are becoming ubiquitous, this article sheds light on the hazards associated with sedentary pastimes and lifestyles. Is it time for a more vigilant screening approach for individuals engaged in gaming or remote employment?

HCA using tech to improve equity

Known as a large for-profit organization, we are impressed with the strategy HCA has initiated to improve screening equity in non-white patients (who are undoubtedly at risk for worse outcomes). HCA's pilot initiative employs technology to analyze data and pinpoint potential high-risk candidates for lung cancer screenings. Care coordinators then conduct follow-ups to assess whether identified patients meet the screening criteria. We will be watching for the outcome data since the use of AI to improve healthcare equity seems promising! 🙌🏼

💡Inspiration for Aspirations

Symptoms can range from patients presenting with mild chest pain or mild tachycardia to cardiac arrest. Pro-tip: If you don’t think about it, you cannot diagnose it… keep it in the differential! (Patients can also have two problems). We found this podcast from The General Broadcast helpful (along with reference links), check it out!
